Scheduling a room:
How do I request a room?
To request a room, you will complete a survey that is included in your course. When you submit, the information will be automatically sent to the Outreach Help Desk who will create the room for you.You can request a room that is available to you throughout the semester. You can then use that same room for multiple sessions all semester long.
Please follow these instructions to request a room for you (or for your team) in E-Live:
- Go to the ANGEL survey link in your course and complete the form. A sample of the form is shown below:
- Submit the form.
- The Outreach Help Desk will receive your request and set up your room within 24 hours.
- You will receive an invitation email from the Help Desk. This email will include links to access your room and recordings (if you request recorded rooms.) Please be sure to keep a copy of the invitation email you receive since you will use the same link every time you want to access your room during the semester. If you should misplace this email, you can contact the Help Desk and ask them to re-send it to you.
Can I request a recorded room?
Yes, there are two options for requesting a recorded room
You can request a room that:
Option (b) will give you the most flexibility, however, you must remember to push the record button when you want to record a session.
How do I invite people to my room?
You can invite people to participate in your room after it has been set up by the Help Desk. You will find the link (URL) that you can send to the people you wish to have participate in the invitation email you receive from the Help Desk. Send your participants the link they'll use to access the room ahead of time - be sure to give them adequate notice!
What's the difference between a moderator and a participant?
As the person requesting the room, you will be granted moderator status. This means you have access to all of the room's tools and functionality. For example, you can upload presentations, create breakout rooms for smaller discussions, give/take permission to participants to chat, use audio, write on the whiteboard. Participants, on the other hand, are people you will invite to the room. They have a limited amount of functionality. At any point during a session, you can promote any participant to moderator status during any session by clicking on their name under the list of participants and selecting Tools-->Moderator-->Give Moderator Privileges.
For more information on moderator capabilities, please check out Elluminate Live's moderator documentation on their website at:
Elluminate Live Documentation and RecordingsCan I request the Help Desk add multiple moderators?
Yes. When you request your room, you can also request that the Help Desk give moderator status to additional people. Simply include their names and valid email address in the Special Instructions box on the ANGEL survey. The Help Desk will then send the invitation email out to them as well. As another option, you can promote any participant to moderator status during any session by clicking on their name under the list of participants and selecting Tools-->Moderator-->Give Moderator Privileges.
Can I request multiple rooms?
You can request multiple rooms but keep in mind that you can request one room that you can use multiple times throughout the semester. If you decide to request multiple rooms, you'll need to complete separate survey requests for each room. And also remember that you will need to keep all of the invitation emails you receive from the Help Desk with the unique links you'll use to access each room.
Recorded rooms
How do I find an Elluminate Live recording?
If you requested a recordable room, you can access these recordings via two links the invitation email you received from the HelpDesk. The first link will take you to the last recording made in the room. The second link takes you to a table with all links of recordings made during the timeframe of your room.
Recordings are generally available within the hour of the session. (Remember that the session ends when the last person leaves the room.)
How long are recordings available?
Recordings are available to play back until the end of the semester.
