Unit Activities

Lesson 1: Orientation

Please complete the following assignments in the order listed below:

  1. Read the instructor-provided course syllabus
  2. Complete the Orientation Lesson Activities in the Orientation folder on the Lessons tab.
  3. Set up your blog. Instructions are included in the Orientation lesson.
  4. Get acquainted with other participants--introduce yourself and "get to know others" on the "Meet and Greet" Discussion Board.
  5. Understand the ground rules for participation in the course.

Lesson 2: Mass Media Literacy

 

 Please complete the following assignments in the order listed below:
  1. Text Reading: Chapter 1: Mass Media Literacy
  2. Review the Instructor's Note on key issues/concepts
  3. Post questions and comments in the "Mass Media Instructor Response" discussion forum and respond to your classmates' posts (at least 2 responses are required).
  4. Post your reaction report blog post (remember to tag it with COMMSP11) by Wednesday; read and respond to your classmates' blogs (at least 2 responses are required)
  5. Complete your assigned Review Question and review/amend answers posted by your classmates.
