Self-Leadership Development Plan Instructions

The purpose of this paper is twofold. First, you will gain a deeper understanding of a variety of constructs relevant to leadership development. Second, you will develop enhanced self-awareness regarding where you personally fall on these constructs which will help you understand yourself, and how to develop your leadership potential, and to function in teams and organizations. More specifically, you will have to discuss how these self-assessments, the VIA character survey in particular, have helped you to know yourself better. Please link these discussions back to readings for this course to discuss how you will utilize these strengths to the full advantage and to overcome those weaknesses to develop your leadership. It would be around 7 to 10 pages. Some suggested components include:

  1. Overview of the results for the self-assessments (e.g., character strengths).
  2. What are your strengths in these self-assessments?
  3. What are your weaknesses in these assessments?
  4. Are there any environmental (e.g., social, and organizational) factors that will help or hinder your taking full advantage of your strengths and overcome your weaknesses?
  5. What are your actions plan to develop your leadership based on the above analysis across different life stages (e.g., lifespan perspective)?
  6. How will you judge whether you have accomplished your objectives and are there any particular indicators you are going to use to evaluate the success?
