Review the PMAD Connection and Project Milestone Connection to understand the purpose of this week's discussion, how it relates to your instructional design project, and how each activity builds toward successful completion of your course milestones.

PMAD Connection 

This week's PMAD asks you to extend your goal analysis by identifying subordinate skills and entry skills associated with your instructional goal. 

As you review classmates' diagrams, look for places where supporting skills may be missing or where assumptions are being made about learner knowledge. One of the most valuable outcomes of peer feedback during this stage is uncovering hidden knowledge that may otherwise remain unnoticed. The discussion provides an opportunity to strengthen your instructional analysis before applying it to future milestones. 

Project Milestone Connection 

This lesson directly supports Milestones 3 and 4. Milestone 3 requires you to classify instructional goals, identify major steps, and create a goal analysis diagram. Milestone 4 requires you to conduct a subordinate skills analysis and identify entry skills. 

Together, these milestones form the analytical foundation for the remainder of your project. The quality of your objectives, assessments, instructional strategy, and instructional materials will depend heavily on the quality of the analysis completed during these early lessons.
