This foundational lesson establishes a framework for the balance of the course. What is human resource management? What role or roles does it play in supporting an organization as the organization strives to achieve desired outcomes?

Lesson Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, you should be able to

• explain the relationship between and among the three factors of production;
• describe changes in the workplace that affect the manner in which Human Resources operates; and,
• analyze the roles Human Resources plays combining labor with other elements of production to produce output (goods or services).
