Check for Understanding
Overview:
This lesson’s Check for Understanding involves the use of a collaborative wiki to share and develop your ideas with your affinity group.
Prompt:
With your affinity group, create a graphic web page in your wiki space that identifies briefly several key classroom activities that you believe can support engagement in reading. Consider how to transform traditional activities with reading in ways that will better develop the habits of independent life-long reading.
Directions
- At the beginning of the week, your group’s leader will create a new wiki page. S/he will title it “Lesson xx_Check for Understanding_Affinity Group xx (i.e., Lesson 01_Check for Understanding_Affinity Group 01).
- Once created, s/he will email this lesson’s wiki page link to other members of his/her Affinity Group.
- Within the wiki, collaborate with your Affinity Group to answer the prompt associated with this lesson’s Check for Understanding.
- Finish collaborating within the wiki by Sunday, 12 p.m. (ET).
- Your team leader will share your finalized wiki to the Yammer Lesson Readings Forum by Sunday, 11:55 p.m. (ET).
- You are strongly encouraged to review other Affinity Groups’ submissions and make comments within the public forum.
