Lesson 2: Organizational Development and the Impact on Communication

Leading the Effort of Organization Development

Chapter 1 (pp. 910) discusses the leadership role of organization development in terms of OD specialists vs. managers/supervisors/team leaders who have assumed the role of "change agent". In either case, it is important to recognize the responsibilities and expectations of leading this important effort.

Ask yourself, do your job responsibilities include managing or leading some type of organization development? If so, consider what OD efforts you influence and how you manage this effort, and how well you communicate factors related to organizational change.
