Introduction
One of the most difficult conversations you"ll have with a coworker is when they are doing poorly and you want to correct the situation. This conversation does not have to be negative. It can provide a great opportunity to help team members focus on their goals and boost their morale while correcting flaws that can hold them back. Effective managers develop the skill of providing feedback and guidance as needed. Determining when step-by-step guidance is required is critical to providing the correct type of feedback. Sometimes, team members need assistance clarifying goals or counseling. As discussed in the last lesson, mentoring is one way employees can obtain assistance in an organization.
